Mileage Game Bagels & Loops

Created by Edmonton endurance athlete Jack Cook — turning recovery into craft, one bagel and baked loop at a time.

Born from recovery and reinvention — when racing paused and I had to ease back on training, creation took over.

Mileage Game Bagels & Loops are small-batch, handmade bakes from my home kitchen in Edmonton:

  • Montreal-style bagels — hand-rolled, honey-boiled, baked with intention
  • Baked Loops — tender, cake-style donuts built from honest ingredients

Each half-dozen is a reminder to slow down, craft with purpose, and fuel others with something real.

The same principles still apply: precision beats chaos, calm is fast, and doing the work with care always matters.

The work is different, but the goal’s the same — build something strong, something real, something that lasts.

Hand-rolled. Honey-boiled. Baked in small batches. Delivered to your doorstep in my Mini Cooper.

For calm mornings and small victories — the perfect start to your Mileage Game.

Fresh batch alert - orders now open for December 6th delivery and drop-off

Sold in small batches — six at a time, $10 a half dozen.

The Story

When racing paused and I had to ease back on training, I found myself looking for another way to move forward. Baking became that outlet — the same discipline and focus, just expressed through flour, water, and time.

What began as recovery soon became craft: a new ritual of calm and care. Mileage Game Bagels were born in those quiet early hours — hand-rolled, honey-boiled, and baked golden in small batches. Soon after came Loops — tender, baked circles made with the same intention, offering a quieter, softer bite.

The principles never changed: precision beats chaos, calm is fast, and doing the work with care always matters. These bakes are a love letter to Montreal-style tradition, to playful reinvention, and to the Edmonton community that’s carried me through every season.

Every batch is a reminder that slowing down can still move you forward.

The Bagels & Loops

Every bagel starts by hand — rolled, shaped, and sealed one at a time. They’re boiled in local honey water for a signature Montreal-style chew, then baked golden for a crisp, lightly sweet crust.

I keep things simple: plain, sesame, and poppyseed — the three that never go out of style. Each batch is small, each ingredient intentional. No shortcuts, no bulk mixes — just a careful rhythm of dough, water, and time.

Bagels are sold by the half-dozen for $10 — choose one flavour or a mixed bag of two plain, two sesame, and two poppyseed. Enough to share, or to make it through a good weekend.

Right alongside the bagels are the Loops — tender baked circles offered in plain, glazed, and chocolate. A softer morning bite, made with the same calm intention.

What you’ll taste in the bagels is a light honey sweetness balanced by sea salt and malt notes, wrapped in a thin, crisp shell that gives way to a soft, chewy interior. Each bite carries the subtle toast of sesame, the nostalgic crunch of poppyseed, or the quiet perfection of plain — simple, honest, and made with care.

Each batch is a reminder that calm has its own kind of speed.

Best enjoyed the day they’re baked. If you’re saving them, slice and freeze — then toast straight from frozen for that just-baked texture.
