the inner Work
This is a private journal.
Not a program.
Not a training plan.
Not a roadmap.
It isn’t divided by neat categories, because life doesn’t happen that way.
Every piece affects the other — body, mind, discipline, distance, reflection, desire, aging, recovery, ambition, stillness.
Here, those pieces live together.
This is a place to document what is actually happening beneath the training and the miles. The unseen side of endurance. The inner work. The small adjustments. The quiet victories. The honest doubts. The pauses between effort.
Some entries will be technical.
Some will be emotional.
Some will feel unfinished.
Some will be uncomfortable.
All of them will be real.
There is no lesson you are required to take from this.
No pace you are required to keep.
Just the invitation to read slowly.
Threaded, not compartmentalized
Every entry in this journal falls under one (or more) of these threads:
Inner Work
The mental, emotional, and existential side of training and life.
The Work
Training, experiments, discipline, adaptation, recovery, and the body’s language.
The Field
Racing, travel, movement through the world, tests, moments in motion.
Life is not compartmentalized.
So neither is this journal.
How to read this space
There is no correct order.
You can begin anywhere.
Move backward or forward.
Dip in or stay a while.
Each entry is simply a moment in time — written from inside the process.
Welcome to the quiet.
Welcome to motion.
Welcome to the Mileage Game.
Calm is still fast
ClosingThis journal has no finish line. There will always be another adjustment, another lesson, another quiet morning, another moment of doubt, another small return to self. Some entries will be closer to light.
Some will sit in shadow.
Most will live somewhere in between. That is the nature of a life in motion. If you choose to stay here, you do so as a witness — not just to training or racing or discipline, but to the slow unfolding of a human being listening more carefully to time, body, heart, and purpose. You don’t need to take anything from these pages. It is enough to simply read them.It is enough to simply be here.Calm is still fast.
